Morecambe have signed Tranmere Rovers striker Cole Stockton on loan.
The 22-year-old, who has also spent time with Southport in the National League this season, arrives at the Globe Arena on an initial 28-day deal with a view to extending it until the end of the season.
Stockton is best known to Shrimps fans for scoring both goals in Tranmere’s 2-1 win over Jim Bentley’s side at Prenton Park last season.
In all he scored six times in 27 games as Rovers were relegated from the Football League.
This time around however he has found first team opportunities limited under new manager Gary Brabin and spent three months with Southport scoring three goals in 10 appearances.
Stockton, who will wear the number 26 shirt, has been signed in time for Morecambe’s trip to Leyton Orient on Saturday.
