Morecambe duo Luke Conlan and Darren McKnight have been called up to the Northern Ireland Under 21 squad.
The pair have been selected to face Scotland in a European Under 21 Championship qualifier at St Mirren’s Paisley 2021 Stadium on Tuesday, March 29.
They are available for The Shrimps’ game against Plymouth Argyle on Good Friday before reporting for duty on Saturday.
Shrimps boss Jim Bentley said: “It doesn’t happen often and it’s nice.
“Luke’s been in our squad for quite a long time and Darren hasn’t had a club but he’s here now and played a couple of reserve team games.
“He’s been on standby but has been called up.
“It’s excellent to have two players going away on international duty, there’s a bit of kudos and we wish them well.”
