Morecambe have made Macclesfield defender Tony Diagne their first signing of the summer.
The 22-year-old has penned a two-year deal at the Globe Arena after joining from the Conference side.
The giant Frenchman played nearly 80 times for the Greater Manchester side after joining from Nottingham Forest in 2011.
Shrimps boss Jim Bentley said he was delighted to pick up the versatile stopper.
He said: “I have watched him closely and always liked him.
“For a young lad he has played a lot of first-team football and can play in several positions which is something we are looking for.
“I know there were a few clubs that were looking at him so I am really pleased that he has chosen Morecambe and I am sure he will do well for us.”
Tony said: “I am really glad to be playing in the Football League again and I was really impressed with what the manager said to me.
“I am looking forward to moving to the area and can’t wait for pre-season to start.”
