Lancaster City have signed Morecambe youngster James Short on a month’s loan.
The left back, a first-year professional, has joined up with former Shrimps Neil Wainwright and Michael Stringfellow, joint bosses at Lancaster City, to aid his development.
Shrimps boss Jim Bentley said: “I think James has done well for us and this move will really help him.
“He will be playing really competitive, regular games at a good level and he will learn a lot as a footballer.”
The Dolly Blues hope the paperwork will be finalised in time for Short, who has yet to play for the Shrimps first-team this season, to make his debut in Tuesday night’s Evo-Stik First Division North game against Burscough at Giant Axe.
