Slyne-with-Hest and Garstang have made mixed starts to the new West Lancashire Premier Division season.
Slyne opened their season on Saturday with a 2-1 victory at home to Coppull United thanks to two goals from Matthew Murphy.
They were then on the wrong side of a nine-goal thriller on Tuesday night, losing 5-4 at Vickerstown.
Tom Entwistle scored twice with Damien Murphy and Josh Buller also on the scoresheet but Danny Cummings’ goal on the hour mark turned out to the winner for the hosts.
Garstang on the other hand are still searching for their first win.
They drew 2-2 at Lostock St Gerards on Saturday with the goals coming from Gary Fawcett and Matthew Poole.
Iain Swan’s side then went on to lose 3-1 at Crookland Casuals on Tuesday night with Leon Gierke getting the only goal for the Riversiders.
