IN the Black Dragon Senior Challenge Cup semi-final Division One side College AFC put up a terrific fight against Storeys before losing 3-2 in a good exciting cup game.
Adam Campbell and Ryan Pinnington both scored good goals for College AFC.
The more experienced Storeys team emerged winners with goals scored by Luke Parkinson, Rob Evans and Phil Oliver.
In the final Storeys will meet Marsh United on Thursday, May 5 on Giant Axe, kick-off 7.30pm.
In the Premier Division the match of the day was between leaders Highgrove and second-placed Slyne-with-Hest who needed to win to keep alive their hopes of winning the championship.
Highgrove played with more determination and in Luke Ogley they had the man of the match with his all-round ability and eye for goal.
Dan Broadley gave Highgrove the lead, a lead they just about deserved for their perseverance.
Luke Ogley claimed the second goal to make it 2-0 and it appeared to knock the Slyne side out of their stride from which they could not recover from.
This win takes Highgrove three points clear of Slyne and also have two games in hand.
Bowerham/Furness United look as though they are going to be the nearest challengers to Highgrove.
They travelled to Ingleton and, after a great thrilling game, came away with all three points.
The game could have gone either way as it flowed from end to end. Bowerham went into a 2-0 lead when they were gifted both goals scored by Stuart Rowlands and Joe Leslie, both resulting from bad defensive mistakes.
