IN THE Sam Price Memorial Cup second round a sterling performance by a relegation-haunted Marsh United earned them another exciting win, this time against Carnforth Rangers.
Marsh, who have welcomed back several key players together with their ex-manager, had to battle for all they were worth to keep in the game.
Vernon Middleton put Carnforth into an early lead, a lead they kept until half-time.
The second half was only minutes old when Marsh struck back with a Mark Goulding penalty.
As Marsh grew in confidence they took the lead when Steve Parkinson scored a good goal from close in.
Carnforth still played their usual good football and were unlucky on several occasions with shots just going wide.
Marsh desperately hung on to their slender lead, but with time running out Carnforth deservedly equalised with a Matthew Garwood goal.
