Soul searching key to City’s resurgence
LANCASTER City assistant boss Phil Brown has revealed that some much-needed “soul searching” in the dressing room was behind the Dolly Blues’ return to form on Saturday.
City convincingly dispatched of play-off rivals Farsley 4-1 at the Giant Axe to pick up only their second win in their last ten games.
Brown said: “It was a much improved performance and a much needed three points. We were excellent from start to finish and everybody played at their optimum.
“We did a bit of soul searching after the defeat at Ossett and we re-focused ourselves and that paid dividends.”
Brown says City now need to push on starting with this Saturday, when they host mid-table Trafford.
He said: “We went there earlier in the season and didn’t play great but we got a lead and they only equalised with a quick free-kick in the last minute.
“They’ll be difficult opponents and have got a couple of lads who can score goals.”
