Dolly Blues’ duo on trial at Stockport

TWO of Lancaster City’s hottest prospects have been on trial at Blue Square Bet Premier side Stockport County.

Hatters boss Jim Gannon ran the rule over in-form striker Danny Hattersley and midfielder Alex Kenyon in a behind-closed-doors friendly this week.

No immediate move is expected for either player but boss Tony Hesketh says it is a good sign for the club that teams from a higher level are taking an interest in his young players.

He said: “We’ll just have to wait and see what happens with Danny and Alex.

“The approach from Fylde for Danny was nice for him but it wasn’t the right move. He scored a goal in the game for Stockport I believe and I know he can play at Conference level.

“It shows we’re doing something right when there’s a lot of interest in our players.”
