Two footballing school girls from Lancaster have won places at the prestigious Lancashire FA PLayer Development Centre.
Soccer stars Tilly Summerhill-Brand and Katie Green, who train with local club Lancaster Giants, made the programme for talented players after impressing at club level.
The two girls, who play for the Lancaster Giants under 10s squad in the Lune and District League, recently took part in a player development centre regional tournament in Doncaster.
The centre offers young players with potential a high quality programme in line with the FA’s guidelines for talented players.
The girls will receive first-rate qualified coaching to aid their overall development in football.
Under 10s manager, and chair of Lancaster Giants, Brian Green said: “We’d like to offer a big well done from everyone at Lancaster Giants to both Tilly and Katie for being accepted into the Lancashire FA Player Development Centre.
“The girls have worked incredibly hard and are ones to watch for the future.”
Lancaster Giants is an FA affiliated chartered standard club playing in the Lune and District league.
Training for the under 9s, under 10s and under 11s teams is on a Tuesday evening at Moorside School Playing Field.
The club is also due to launch a new training programme for five to seven year olds which will start on a Saturday morning after Easter.
