Garstang brushed aside Blackpool Wren Rovers 2-0 on Easter Monday to make sure of their place in the West Lancashire Premier Division for another season.
Aaron Helliwell and Andy Taylor got the goals at the Riverside against a side who had been in league title contention until the latter part of the campaign.
Helliwell scored on 37 minutes, evading three tackles on his way to a fine finish, before Taylor doubled the advantage on the stroke of half-time as Iain Swan’s side extended their unbeaten run to seven games.
On Saturday, Garstang had won 1-0 at Longridge despite having to play an hour with 10 men following Taylor’s red card.
Former Lancaster City man Helliwell got the all important goal 10 minutes into the second half from the penalty spot after Matty Poole had been tripped in the area.
Garstang travel to Tony Hesketh’s Fulwood Amateurs on Saturday in the semi-final of the Richardson Cup before a local derby at Slyne-with-Hest on Tuesday.
