The energetic midfielder had given the visitors a fifth minute lead with an accurate finish following some excellent link up play by Jack Swindlehurst and Dre Mattichechia.

In an open game it was 2-0 shortly after the half hour when Matty Poole rounded the ‘keeper to score.

Then came the injury to Fawcett which left him needing 12 internal and 17 external stitches.

Eagley dominated the early stages of the second half and pulled a goal back on 54 minutes when Jack Horan headed home.

Tom Graham was forced to clear an effort off the line before Jordan Cover equalised with 20 minutes to play.

Mark Thornley’s goal was under siege and he could do nothing about Cover’s second, the turnaround complete when he cut inside Gary Louth and fired into the corner of the net.

With six minutes to play however a resilient Garstang hit back, a long Matty Bell throw causing havoc in the Eagley defence with Crossley forcing the ball over the line.
