NEW Morecambe manager Jim Bentley has made his first move into the transfer market.

Bentley has signed winger Kevin Ellison, 32, on a one year deal, following his release from Rotherham at the end of last season.

The former Chester man officially joins the Shrimps on July 1.

Bentley has also secured the services of defender Will Haining, who has signed a new two-year deal.

Haining had spent part of last season on loan at Blue Square Bet North side Fleetwood Town, but impressed towards the end of the season when he returned to the Shrimps.

Bentley said: “I am delighted to have signed both players. They both have a great deal of experience at this level and are big characters to have around.

“When I took over Will was one of the first people I rang because he is a player I have always admired and wanted him to stay on.

“Kevin is a left sided player who I have had some great battles with over the years and he is a player I have long admired.”
