Former Lancaster City assistant boss Neil Crossley is the new Garstang manager.
Crossley, who was at one time Barrie Stimpson’s right-hand man at Giant Axe, replaces Iain Swan at the Riverside after the former Dolly Blues and Morecambe defender took up the offer to be Michael Stringfellow’s assistant at Kendal Town.
Crossley was a professional with Bury for three years before spending time with Torquay, Accrington Stanley, Morecambe and the Dolly Blues, latterly as first team coach and assistant manager.
He said: “I’d like to thank the chairman and the committee for giving me the opportunity to manage such an ambitious club.
“I’m confident that my experience in the game can add to the previous work done by “Swany” (Iain Swan) and that I can help the club move forward”
Garstang chairman Adrian Wilding said: “It has been a tough decision, the list of applicants was of a very high standard but Neil seems to fit with us at this particular time and we look forward to a long, happy and successful relationship with him.”
Crossley’s first game in charge will see his new side host Burnley United at the Riverside this Saturday, October 25, 3pm kick-off.
