Garstang came from behind to make it back-to-back league wins with a 2-1 win at Vickerstown on Saturday.
In a frantic first half the hosts took an eighth minute lead through Sean Paterson.
Chances came and went at both ends with Ryan Dodd shooting narrowly wide for Iain Swan’s visitors, who were lifted by the return of powerful defender Conor Crossley after a spell with Lancaster City.
Matty Bell then blazed over for the Riversiders before Steve Kewley was allowed a free strike on the Garstang goal.
The visitors then had a let off when ‘keeper Mark Thornley appeared to bring down the advancing Paterson but a goal kick was awarded.
The openings kept coming in the first half as Bell had a good effort tipped round the post before Leon Gierke fluffed another good chance just before the whistle.
Garstang made an emphatic start to the second half, Gary Fawcett winning the ball back before crossing for Matty Poole who could only head over.
Vickerstown couldn’t get out of their own half and Fawcett’s endeavours were rewarded in the 57th minute when his shot came back off a defender into the path of Danny McGahon who fired the ball home.
Garstang’s superiority continued and Dodd brought a save from Jordan Belcher before Swan’s side deservedly took the lead when Bell curled a shot into the top corner from 25 yards for what turned out to be a magnificent winner.
Elsewhere, Slyne-with-Hest kept up their fine start with a 4-1 win at home to Lostock St Gerards.
Goals came from Tom Entwistle, Reece Pearce, Aaron Pompel and Josh Buller.
This Saturday, Garstang host Charnock Richard while Slyne-with-Hest travel to Thornton Cleveleys.
