EVAN Stewart, 1st XV rugby coach and business studies teacher at Lancaster Royal Grammar School, has been named Players’ Player of the Year by Fylde Rugby Club.
The accolade rounded off a great weekend for Evan, as he also scored the winning try for Lancashire in their 36-29 victory over Cheshire at Broughton Park recently.
This result puts Lancashire into a fourth County Championship final in as many years against Hertfordshire.
This is Evan’s first season at Fylde. He joined the club from Macclesfield where he was skipper in 2010/11.
The former Loughborough Students’ flanker and captain made 25 appearances and scored 16 tries.
