Election time for North Lancs League

THE Lancaster Honda North Lancashire and District Football League held its annual meeting on Monday, June 29 in the Lansil Sports and Social Club, Lancaster.

The officers re-elected were Jim Bell (President), Alan Moorhouse (Chairman), Danny Chappell (Vice Chairman), L Postlethwaite (General Secretary), Phil Davies (Treasurer), Mick Barnes (Registration Secretary), L Postlethwaite (Fixtures Secretary and Referees Appointments Officer).

Management Committee Members re-elected were Gary Clemmy, Robin Doherty, Steve Hamblett, Gary Harper, Michael Partridge, Graham Pearson and Miss Adele Partridge. The one vacancy was filled by Terry Ainsworth.

Among the rule changes was an increase in referee's fees to 20 and expenses rose to 25p per mile.

Three teams resigned, Morecambe Hoops, Squires FC and Swarthmoor Social Club Reserves.

One new club, Pilling AFc, was admitted together with a Carnforth Rangers third team, Freehold FC entered a Reserve team likewise Burton Thistle entered a Reserve team.

The constitution of the league was made and consists of Premier Division of 14 teams, Division One of 14 teams, Division Two of 13 teams, Division Three 12 teams and Division Four 12 teams.

Premier Division: Highgrove, Marsh United, Storeys, Ingleton, Morecambe Royals, Carnforth Rangers, TIC Dynamos, Cartmel, Kirkby Lonsdale, Halton Rangers, Galgate, Bentham (promoted), Bowerham (p), Slyne-with-Hest (p).

Division One: Swarthmoor (relegated), Caton United (r), Storeys Res, Marsh United Res, Cartmel Res, Ingleton Res, Highgrove Res, Millhead, Morecambe Royals Res, College AFC, Boys Club, Bolton-le-Sands (p), Freehold (p), Overton (p).

Division Two: Torrisholme (r), Grange (r), Arnside, Kirkby Lonsdale Res, Furness Rovers, Morecambe CC, Slyne-with-Hest (LCC) A, Westgate Wanderers, Caton United Res, Carnforth Rangers Res (p), Allithwaite Rangers (p), Halton Rangers Res (p), Bentham Res (p).

Division Three: Galgate Res (r), Gregson, Burton Thistle, Heysham, Boys Club Res, Bolton-le-Sands Res, Grange Res, Morecambe Gold (p), Highgrove Colts (p), Moghuls (p), AFC Moorlands (p), Villa Royale (p).

Division Four: Arnside Res (r), Millhead Res, College AFC Res, Morecambe CC Res, Heysham Res, Ingleton A, Gregson Res, Overton Res, Carnforth A (new), Burton Thistle Res (new), Pilling AFC (new), Freehold Res (new).

* NEWLY promoted Bentham teams, Premier Division and Division Two of the Lancaster Honda North Lancashire and District Football League, have started training for the new season, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7pm.
