There are big things ahead for Tyson Fury in 2014 according to his uncle and trainer.

Peter Fury is looking to get his man back in action after a frustrating few months for the unbeaten Morecambe giant after the postponement and then cancellation of his British heavyweight superfight with David Haye.

The 25-year-old, who has an unblemished 21-fight record that includes 15 knockouts, only fought once in 2013 as a result with a seventh-round stoppage of Steve Cunningham in New York back in April.

But uncle Peter is hoping for three fights over the next 12 months on the way to a world heavyweight title shot.

He said: “There are big things to come.

“Tyson is the best heavyweight in the world in my eyes. He’s developing, getting more experienced and more seasoned.

“Everyone wants a piece of Tyson and he needs to get off to a good start in the New Year, get into the groove and get three wins under his belt in 2014.

“It’s too soon to say about an opponent but Deontay Wilder’s a big fight.

“We’ve tried the Klitschko brothers a number of times and they’re not interested.”

The former British and Commonwealth champion is expected to return to the ring in March and would appear to favour a clash with American knockout artist Wilder who has stopped all 30 of his opponents inside four rounds.
