Atoms youngsters end fine debut season with battling defeat
Starting the game with just 12 players the Atoms defended resolutely for the opening quarter of an hour.
It paid off when Kyle Barton seized on possession in his own half to power his way past several would-be tacklers and score the first try converted by Henry Connolly.

Hide AdWaterhead got on the board to make it 6-4 at the break before taking the lead at the start of the second half with a try out wide.
Heysham hit back however with Simon Cody scoring to make it 10-8 after good work from Barton and Adam Woodend.
Waterhead had the final say to take victory but it couldn’t take anything away from what has been a successful first campaign for the Atoms youngsters.
