A schoolgirl had her hair shaved off to raise money for St John’s Hospice.

Roisin Swarbrick, 14 of Westminster Road, Morecambe, wanted to donate money to the hospice after her nan was treated there.

Not only has she raised hundreds of pounds for the hospice, she has also donated her hair to The Little Princesses charity, which makes wigs from real hair for children suffering from alopecia and cancer.

Roisin said: “People who have cancer and chemotherapy don’t have a choice in losing their hair, but I do so its kind of symobolic.

“I’ve been to the hospice a few times now and its a really nice place. The volunteers and staff do amazing work.”

Roisin’s mum Deborah said: “My mum would be very proud.”
