A group of artists are returning to St Nicholas Arcades later this month to raise money for the Save Our Hospice campaign.
Meet the Makers will be selling art in a unit of the city shopping centre from Friday, March 21, to Sunday, March 23, on the back of a successful event in the run up to Christmas.
Rather than making money themselves, the group have once again elected to support the Lancaster Guardian and The Visitor campaign to raise £500,000 to secure the future of St John’s Hospice.
Organiser Jan Towlson, a jewellery designer from Nether Kellet, said: “People really bought into us as artists last time and we were keen to support local and buy handmade.
“The word soon spread that we were in town, so much so we put on an extra date to meet demand.”
The group donated £600 on the back of the Christmas event and also put together a hamper worth more than £500 which they donated to the Slyne Road charity.
This time around the talented bunch are celebrating Mother’s Day and will be in the arcade between 9am and 5.30pm on the Friday and Saturday and 10am and 4pm on the Sunday.
Items available will include candles, bags, scarves, crafts, jewellery, pottery, cards and stationary.
