THE majority of teams in the Premier Division were in first round action in the Sam Price Memorial Cup.
Morecambe Royals entertained Carnforth Rangers in what was the tie of the round.
Royals were the better side in the first half and took the lead with a Carl Manning header at the back post from a corner.
The second half was much better with the Royals just the better team. They took a 2-0 lead when Sean Hardwick scored.
The Royals became more defensive but Carnforth could not make the breakthrough with the Royals deserving their 2-0 win.
Highgrove, who had recently beaten Kirkby Lonsdale 3-2 with a last-minute goal, made light work of beating them this time.
Highgrove dominated with Lancaster City starlet Scott King scoring twice and strike partner Luke Ogley also scoring twice.
Swarthmoor were unlucky to lose 2-1 to Morecambe Hoops. Both sides attacked whenever possible but it was the Hoops who won the game with two goals scored by Jimmy Durnan and the winner from Dez Martinez.
Stuart Mason scored a great goal for Swarthmoor.
A desperate Galgate fielded a much weakened team and lost 8-1 at home to a lowly Halton Rangers side who had won only twice so far this season.
Storeys looked to be on their way to an easy win over an Ingleton side that had made a bright start to the season.
A good move down the right saw Steve Miller cross for goal poacher Steve Stirzaker to give Storeys a well-deserved lead.
It was no surprise when Storeys went into a 2-0 lead when after a good passing movement Johnny Byers scored.
Ingleton are renowned for their fighting qualities and David Whitfield beat stand-in keeper Paul Fraser to make it 2-1 at the break.

In the Premier Division, only two games took place and TIC Dynamos moved to the top of the division with a 2-2 draw at home to Cartmel, a side that beat them earlier in the season.
In a very good game of football, both sides hit top form together with Cartmel producing more efforts on goal although TIC played good football.
Cartmel took a first half lead following a free-kick when Martin Parington scored a good goal.
The second half was 20 minutes old when the game burst into life as TIC at last drew level with a goal scored by Stuart Rushworth.
TIC then went into a 2-1 lead when Rushworth scored his second but Cartmel never gave up and forced an equaliser when Parington scored his second.
Dynamos almost snatched the winner when a terrific Craig Holme shot in the last minute was superbly saved.
Marsh United moved into third place after beating a Caton side that fielded 17-year-old keeper Oliver Beeson and 16-year-old James Postlethwaite.
Caton fielded a team of six reserve team players and no substitutes due to the unavailability of first team players.
The first half saw Marsh dominate the game and should have had the game over by half-time, but the defence of Caton played really well with captain Mark Burkitt leading the way.
Marsh could only score once before half-time through Alan Coulton.
Marsh were on top after the break as well and two good goals from Lee Sparks made it 3-0.

Bowerham probably edged the possession but needed a mistake by Royals keeper Tony Milne to get the winner, Andy Strachan pouncing after Milne had dropped the ball.
Boys Club turned on the style in the second half to see off Grange aside 3-0.
Grange's hopes of winning were dashed early in the game when they lost a player through injury, meaning they had to play with 10 men. Ben Pye scored twice with Joe Proud getting the other.
Storeys Reserves dealt comfortably with a tricky-looking tie at Cartmel Reserves, winning 3-0 with three late goals from Liam Westworth and David Leslie (2).
Slyne-with-Hest (LCC) showed no mercy on a disappointing Millhead side who were never in the game with a chance.
David Doran scored a hat-trick, Michael Denwood got two with Paul Gill and James Geary scoring once in a 7-2 win. Millhead replied with goals by Bradley Shuttleworth and James Rafferty.
In the League, Marsh United Reserves surprisingly lost 3-1 to College AFC.
The first half saw the College side take control with two goals by Wayne Dixon.
Marsh improved after a half-time blast from their manager and Craig Gribbin gave his side a chance.
But another goal for College by Matthew Durham sealed the points and moved them up to sixth in the league.
Bentham beat Highgrove Reserves 4-0, although they did not have it all their own way despite the scoreline as Highgrove fought for every ball.
Bentham were always dangerous on the attack and Graham Cowgill, Gary Louth (2) and Stuart Ralph scored their goals.
Ingleton Reserves and Torrisholme FC observed a minute's silence in respect for Martin Wilkinson who died on Thursday. Martin was a co-founder of Torrisholme FC, formerly West End Athletic.
His side did him proud as they fought for every ball but just could not make its possession count as Ingleton's Mark Loughlin scored the only goal.
In the Division Two Whiteside Cup first round, Slyne-with-Hest (LCC) 'A' could not repeat their performance of last week when they beat Morecambe Cricket Club by 3-1.
In the second game they were well and truly second best as the Cricket Club were far the better team winning 5-1 thanks to Graham Cassidy (2), Sam McKee, Paul Woodhouse and Jamie Knowles. Slyne scored a consolation by John Gill.
In the League, Westgate Wanderers are sliding towards the relegation places after losing to leaders Bolton-le-Sands 2-1.
At half-time the game was still goalless but after just five minutes of the restart Mark Smith's shot looped into the net.
Westgate's deserved equaliser came from a Sea Bryan header from a corner but Smith put Bolton-le-Sands side back into the lead with his second goal.
Westgate could not get the equaliser and Sands now lead the table by seven points after just eight games.
In a hurriedly re-arranged game, Arnside did their promotion chances good when it just came out on top over Overton FC.
Overton had beaten Arnside at Overton early in the season in a seven-goal thriller but this time Arnside had the edge, winning 2-1 with James Kirkham scoring twice.
Freehold FC were very lucky to beat a determined Kirkby Lonsdale Reserves in another hurriedly re-arranged game.

The Burton players who did the damage were Chris Plevey who sealed an immaculate performance by scoring a superb hat-trick and Matthew White.
Squires FC took advantage of Halton's defeat by taking over at the top after winning 4-2 in a hard game with Gregson.
