Lancaster City Council Planners have recently revised their recommendation to reject an application to erect a wind turbine at Catch 23 at Borwick. They have now concluded that there will be no major visual effect looking from nearby areas of outstanding natural beauty – whilst seemingly disregarding the effect that this monster will have on the 16 dwellings located within 400 metres of the planned site.
David Cameron’s government have promoted “localism” which, they say, enables people to influence such things as planning decisions in their own area. The vast majority of locals do not want this application approved. It is another ‘get rich quick scheme’ and I would urge the planning committee to listen to local views and reject this application.
