On behalf of Lancaster Music Festival I would like to reiterate that BID support has indeed enabled is to not only continue the festival but also expand the program and triple attendance on a relatively modest contribution to the festival production budget.
So successful has this support been that we are well on the way to having the main festival production becoming self-sufficient with reliance on BID funding being now focused on those parts of the festival for which finding is necessary, for example, concerts in the city centre squares.
Our festival team all agree that with Lancaster Castle raising its portcullis to the public, the tasteful and elegant renovation of the squares and square routes and the funding of arts and cultural events through Lancaster BID this city is set to take off. We believe it can now do so on its own terms without reliance on the uncertainty of external funding though its raised profile will increase the opportunity to attract that funding.
We’ve got the resources right here to light up Lancaster and be counted as a cultural gem in these islands and abroad and I believe this city will do just that.
We’re just all incredibly fortunate that this is all happening now and on our watch.
How cool is that.
