The Morecambe and Lancaster Branch of the Royal Air Forces Association is organising a coach trip to the Yorkshire Air Museum at Elvington, near York, on Wednesday, August 21.

The museum is the largest independent air museum in Britain and is the location of the Allied Air Forces Memorial.

Situated on the largest and most original World War Two station open to the public, it houses 15 exhibitions and more than 60 historic aircraft and vehicles, many in working order.

There is a NAAFI-style, licensed canteen and a well-stocked souvenir shop, and the site is largely flat with level access to most areas.

Coach tickets cost £8 for RAFA members, £10 for non-members, payable in advance. Entrance to the museum is £5 for adults, £3 for children aged five-15, payable on the door. All welcome, contact Jane Latin on 01524 412987 to book a place.
