Woman assaulted in Morecambe

A WOMAN was left shaken following an assault in Morecambe.

The victim, a 21-year-old from the area, was approached by a man who grabbed and kicked her on Balmoral Road opposite Sandylands School between 12.30am and 1am in the early hours of Saturday, July 21.

She did not receive serious injuries.

The offender is described as a white man, aged in his late 30s or early 40s, with grey short hair with a slight quiff at the front, approximately 5ft8ins tall and of slim build.

He was wearing a dark coloured jumper and dark blue jeans.

Detective Constable Sue Palmer from Lancaster CID said: “I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward and make contact with the police.

“The victim did not receive serious injuries but she has been left shaken following her ordeal. The person responsible needs to be caught and dealt with.”
