A WANTED sex offender has been arrested after being spotted in the street by police patrols in Lancaster.
Police appealed for help to try and trace Benjamin Moorhead, 30, a registered sex offender, who was last seen on Wednesday, March 14, after he appeared at Lancaster Magistrates Court for an offence of assault (non sexual).
He was arrested today, Wednesday, and will now be recalled to prison.
Moorhead, formerly of Borrans Lane, Middleton, Morecambe was wanted for failing to adhere to conditions of his registration and for breach of his probation licence conditions.
Moorhead’s sexual conviction is historic having been convicted at Carlisle Crown Court in 2001 for an offence of indecent assault.
He will be a registered sex offender for life.
