The ‘impressive’ partnership between the University of Cumbria and its Students’ Union has been recognised during a national awards ceremony.
The two organisations have been presented with a joint ‘highly commended’ acknowledgment for their on-going work which is benefiting their students and ensuring they receive a first-rate university experience.
This recognition was part of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) and National Union of Students (NUS) joint Students’ Union and institution partnership award which was presented at the University of Warwick.
This is the inaugural year for the accolade, which has been created to recognise and celebrate partnerships with students, and formed part of the HEA’s annual conference with its primary theme of ‘powerful partnerships: defining the learning experience’.
The feedback stated: “The panel were impressed with the values-based approach you take to partnership working. The diverse opportunities and arrangements offered allow this approach to be sensitive to context, and your diverse student body.
“It was good to hear about how this has benefited student experiences.
“A further strength is the coherence and consistency this provides across your diverse campuses and student body.”
