The train company which runs services between Lancaster and Morecambe has put ticket prices up by an average of 2.8 per cent.

Northern Rail introduced the increase on January 2, the equivalent of around 10 to 20p per single journey, which will go towards meeting service costs and improvements for customers, the company said,

It added: “We will continue to work with the Government and wider rail industry to drive down the cost of running the railway to provide better long-term value for money.”
