BAD parking could be punished by a £70 fine under plans to be considered by highways chiefs.
If approved by Lancashire County Council, officers will be able to issue penalties to vehicles parked on dropped kerbs and those which obstruct roads and traffic because they are ‘double parked’ more than 50cm away from the kerb.
The £70 fixed penalty would be halved if paid within 14 days.
Paul Riley, parking services manager, said: “Poor parking causes considerable inconvenience for other road users and people trying to cross the road, especially if they need to use a dropped kerb which happens to be blocked by an inconsiderate driver.
