A FORMER Lancaster Market stall holder has started selling roasted chestnuts in the city centre, inspired by a recent trip to Switzerland.
Peter Jewell, who used to run the Doctor Who stall at the indoor market, decided to set himself up selling the warm festive treat after seeing them sold on “every street corner” whilst on holiday.
Peter, 47, who lives in Dallas Road, said: “I was in Switzerland the other week and pretty much every street corner had a chestnut seller on it.
“You hardly ever seen them over here though. The main challenge has been to find good quality chestnuts in the local area.”
