A TWO-YEAR-OLD boy was mauled by a Staffordshire Bull Terrier as he walked to the shops with his mum.
Ellis Nelson-Brown was left with two cuts to his face after the unattended dog grabbed him in Westminster Road, Morecambe, on Tuesday afternoon.
Ellis’s mum Lauren, 22, kicked out at the dog in a bid to free her son, before grabbing him and running to a nearby friend’s house for help.
“Ellis had been literally two feet away from me the whole time,” she said.
“But when we got to the alleyway near Harrington Road, Ellis had gone around the corner and I suddenly heard him screaming.
“I ran towards him and saw the dog had hold of him, so I kicked at it and picked Ellis up and ran off.
“I didn’t realise how bad it was until we tried to wipe his face. I wanted to be with my mum, so I picked him up and ran back to my house, and rang an ambulance on the way.”
