Thieves target caravan park

Police in Lancaster are appealing for information following three separate burglaries at a Lancaster caravan park.

The offences are believed to have taken place between November 25 and December 6 at Crook o’Lune Caravan Park in Caton Road.

During one of the burglaries the offender forced entry through the living room window of a caravan and made an untidy search of the property before escaping through the rear patio doors.

The thieves have stolen a number of items of china and pottery which have sentimental value to the owners.

This burglary was discovered after officers were alerted to a lodge break-in, in which a bedroom window has been forced.

Another chalet was targeted sometime between 8pm on December 5 and 9am on December 6.

The offender again forced open a window, stealing a TV.

Items stolen during both break-ins include a 32ins Panasonic LCD TV, a Sony digital camera, a crystal glass fruit bowl, various jewellery with stones in it, a Links of London necklace and charm, Lladro clown figures, a Royal Crown Derby plate, DVD and costume jewellery.

PC Caroline Bell said: “I would appeal to anybody that has been at the caravan park in the past few weeks and thinks they have seen anybody acting suspiciously to contact police.

“I’d urge people to be vigilant and to ensure their properties are secure.

“I would also ask people to take a look at the photographs of the property and if anyone has been offered these items for sale or knows where the items are to call us on 101.”

People with information can also contact the Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at Crimestoppers-uk.org.
