A one-man show from Madness front man Suggs is a highlight of the new season at Lancaster’s Grand Theatre.
The man behind hits like House of Fun and Baggy Trousers will bring his touring show ‘My Life Story’ to the venue on Wednesday, May 29 2013.
Decribed as part-play, part-stand up comedy and music hall, the show will take the audience on a trip through Suggs’ life from growing up in tough 1970s Soho to his success with Madness.
Tickets cost £24.50 and are on sale now from the theatre.
Also coming to the Grand next year is 80s pop star Toyah Wilcox as part of the ‘Hormonal Housewives’ sketch show.
Famed for her hits Thunder in the Mountains and I Want to be Free, Toyah will be in an unfamiliar comedy role looking at everything that makes women tick, or ticked off!
Hormonal Housewives is on Tuesday, May 21 at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £20.
Other big names signed up for the Grand’s season include comedians Lee Hurst, Chris Addison, Marcus Brigstocke, Josh Widdicombe and Terry Alderton, the returns of Joe Longthorne, Elkie Brooks, Mike Harding and Pam Ayres, and the ever-popular Chuckle Brothers.
Touring plays will include The Gruffalo’s Child, Iron by Rona Munro and Teechers by John Godber while Lancaster Footlights will present When We Were Married, The History Boys and Carrie’s War.
There will be tributes to The Carpenters, Daniel O’Donnell, Abba and Michael Jackson, and a Singalonga Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Morecambe Amateurs’ annual musical will be Disney’s Beauty and the Beast while Lancaster Red Rose’s show this year will be Thoroughly Modern Millie.
The Vienna Festival Ballet will return with Sleeping Beauty and the Alysia Gilda School will put on their regular Dance Crazy show.
