There was plenty of Christmas cheer as musicians teamed up with Santa to raise money for a very good cause.

A family fun day held at the Trimpell Club in aid of Unique Kidz & Co was packed with people enjoying nine hours of live music and a visit from Father Christmas.

The event on Sunday saw local musicians give their time for free to entertain their guests.

It was organised by Morecambe singer Stuart Michaels who also performed.

Other acts included Mark McKenna, Jason Mcloughlin, Mark Caudle, Ashleigh Wood, Natasha Bates, Body and Soul, Megan Stanford, Dani Gallagher, Mark Yates, Two Stroke Diesel, Fuse, Tony Herald, Melanie Horabin, Bryan Page, The Good Souls, King Suckerman, Gary Barlow tribute Alex Taylor and Adele tribute Lareena Mitchell.

Compere was Mike Jackson.

The Visitor and Lancaster Guardian content editor Greg Lambert hosted the raffle and auction, helped by Denise Thwaite.

CDs were on sale of a charity cover version of The Hollies’ hit ‘He Ain’t Heavy He’s My Brother’ performed by local acts.

All money went to Unique Kidz, a charity set up by two local mums to provide facilities for children with disabilities.
