Lancaster hair and beauty salon Jo & Cass is hosting a special charity event next week to help disabled Lancaster twins Katie and Emma Sutcliffe with their appeal.

The Great John Street salon is holding an evening of fashion and beauty shows, beauty demonstrations and entertainment on November 15 from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.

A fashion show will be put on by Room 12, while Butterfly Bridal will be holding a bridal show.

The Music Spot will be bringing a band to the occasion, and there will also be an auction, raffle and champagne reception.

For small donations, guests can take part in hair and beauty demonstrations.

Emmerdale star Carl King will also be popping into the salon and visitors can have their photo taken with him in return for a donation to the charity.

Money raised on the night will be doubled by Barclays Bank.

Salon co-owner Graham Cass said: “The Sutcliffe family are clients of ours and we decided we wanted to try to do something to help their appeal a bit.

“Hopefully the night will be a big success.” Jo & Cass are also sponsoring a charity boxing night on December 1 which is also in aid of the Twins Appeal.

Katie and Emma, 15, suffer from spastic diplegic cerebral palsy and need wheelchairs to get around as the condition causes pain and stiffness in their legs.

Backed by the Guardian, Katie and Emma and their family are aiming to raise £85,000 through their Twins Appeal to pay for pioneering treatment in America.

The surgery would mean the girls could walk unaided for the first time.

The appeal has so far raised more than £41,000.

Meanwhile, a recent coffee morning held by family friend Gill Allen and friends in Bolton-le Sands raised £440 for the appeal.

The twins’ mum Caroline said: “We’d like to say a big thank you to Gill and friends for organising this event.”

A Zumbathon is being held at Lancaster University sports centre on November 25 from 1pm to 4pm.

Entry is £7 which also includes a free raffle.

To buy tickets, contact Caroline on 07890 028729 or via the Twins Appeal page on Facebook.

A concert by the Melody Cottage Choir is also being held on November 15, which Emma will be singing a solo in.

The choir, which is led by Emma’s singing teacher, Victoria Munson, will be singing at Kirkland and Catterall Memorial Hall.

In addition, they will be singing Christmas carols in Lancaster city centre for the Twins Appeal on December 6.
