MORE than 200 potholes across the Lancaster district which were reported to highways chiefs in 2010 had not been repaired by the end of the year.

There were 1,537 potholes reported to Lancashire County Council during the year – the seventh highest number across the county’s 12 districts – but 225 of them went unrepaired, the third worst record.

Only Rossendale, which had 348 unrepaired potholes, a figure currently being checked due to paperwork being incomplete, and Pendle, which had 297 unrepaired holes, posted higher figures.
