RESIDENTS celebrated the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton last Friday with street parties.

Although only three applications were made to close roads, those communities which marked the event did so in style.

Other residents threw parties to celebrate, but did not need road closures because they live in cul-de-sacs.

Gloucester Avenue in Scotforth, Norwood Drive in Torrisholme and Townley Street in Morecambe were closed to traffic to make way for the revels.

There were also parties on Yealand Drive in Scotforth, Rowan Place on Marsh and Ashbourne Grove in Morecambe.

Other celebrations were held at Lancaster’s Laurel Bank Care Home, the Lancaster Library Baby Bounce and Rhyme group, Eric Morecambe House care home in Torrisholme, the Rydal Court sheltered housing in Morecambe and Happy Mount Park.
