A person was rescued from a house via an attic window by firefighters.

Firefighters were called to help ambulance crews remove the patient from the house on Fairfield Road, Heysham, on Thursday night at 11.30pm.

A cherry picker was used to extricate the person from the house through the attic window.

North West Ambulance Service said one person, who they could not confirm was a man or a woman, was taken to the Royal Preston Hospital.

There was no information on the condition of the person, or any details of injuries.
