The Borough Pub in Lancaster has won the Campaign for Real Ale’s (CAMRA) Quality Pub Award for 2014.
The Lunesdale branch of CAMRA awarded the pub the top accolade after it scored highly following inspections by local members in a number of categories with the quality of the beer being the most important.
Branch chairman Michael Dillon presented the award to owner Hannah Horner in front of CAMRA members and pub staff.
He said: “With so many very good pubs in the Lunesdale branch area this is a well-deserved award to a pub that has always been popular with CAMRA members and meets the highest standards CAMRA looks for.”
Hannah Horner said the pub’s brewery, opened in 2013, “enhanced the pub” and paid tribute to James Holden, bar manager for the past year, who looks after the beer.
