THIEVES stole six quad bikes belonging to a Lancaster young people’s organisation last weekend, and then returned to the scene to steal another one on Monday, leaving a popular county-wide project “devastated” by the loss.

Six quads, worth about £26,000, were stolen from a barn near Forrest Hills Golf Club and Fly Fishery, in Hazelrigg Lane, sometime between 12pm last Friday and 11.30am last Saturday.

A seventh was taken sometime between 5pm and 8pm on Monday.

The quads belonged to the Lancashire Association of Clubs for Young People, and police say the thieves must have had prior knowledge of their location before carrying out the theft.
