Preston man admits possessing indecent images of children

A man has admitted a string of offences relating to indecent images of children.

Nicola Polizzy, of Chaddock Street, Preston, admitted a charge of possessing 24 indecent images of children between July 2014 and May 2015 during his first appearance before Preston Magistrates’ Court.

Over the same period the 37-year-old defendant admits making - downloading - nine images of youngsters which are considered the most serious category in law, with a further 11 pictures at category B and four at category C.

Polizzy is now expected to appear before Preston Crown Court on July 19 to be sentenced.

The magistrates bench, which deemed their powers insufficient to deal with him, granted him conditional bail in the meantime restricting his internet use and his contact with under 18s.

It comes as an operation to thwart internet sex offenders globally continues.
