THE Promenade Concert Orchestra starts its new season of four concerts at the Platform in Morecambe with a bang.

For the first time, the orchestra is presenting a complete programme of film music on Sunday, November 27, at 3pm, including 633 Squadron, Reach for the Sky, Dream of Olwen, Warsaw Concerto theme, The Thunderbirds March, The Big Country, Star Wars medley; classical music from Apocalypse Now in Wagner’s Ride of the Valkyries and Eine Kleine Nachtmusik from Amadeus; and two shows films, Gigi and Porgy and Bess selections.

The New Year Viennese concert on January 29 returns to start the New Year with favourite Strauss family waltzes and marches, and an international, award-winning soprano soloist, Caroline MacPhie to sing some songs, as well as the Turning Point Theatre Arts to dance.
