MORE than 500 bus users have signed a petition calling for the county council to re-install information signs at Lancaster Bus Station.

The electronic boards, which gave up-to-the-minute departure times and destinations, were switched off permanently on December 1 as part of a Lancashire County Council cost-cutting exercise.

But a group campaigning against the decision now has the support of hundreds of people who regularly use the bus station.

Coun Ian Pattison, who represents Harbour Ward, believes the county council made the wrong decision.
