YOUNGSTERS in hospital in Lancaster over Christmas have had their spirits lifted with a surprise visit from a popular children’s book character.

Peter Rabbit from The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction called in to see young patients in the children’s ward at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary.

The famous furry character showered the children with a little Beatrix Potter magic, handing out a variety of stickers, books, bunny ears and assorted goodies.

Andy Poole, chief executive of The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction, said: “We thought it would be an excellent idea to get involved with our local hospitals this year and see if we could give the children a special experience during their hospital stay.”
