A LANCASTER-based artist has taken the death of her sister as the inspiration for a unique theatrical experience in the Yorkshire Dales.
Performance maker Louise Ann Wilson has created Fissure, a weekend-long production taking place in and around Ingleborough from May 20 to 22.
Louise, 41, lost her sister Denise in 2001 after a long battle with a brain tumour. She said: “I wanted to make something beautiful out of something so terrible.
“It’s a story of love and loss and what it’s like to lose somebody who you love. Part of you that goes when that person goes. Grieving is long and hard.
“My sister was ill for four or five years. It took her life when she was 29. And that experience with her facing the fact her illness was terminal, sits at the heart of the piece.”
