Summer is well and truly here and it looks like it is here to stay.

Now is the time to enjoy all your hard work over the last several months to look your best for these summery months.

If you’re not there yet, do no worry there is still plenty of time.

Today I am going to show you some overlooked strategies that you can implement in order to stop sabotaging your efforts of losing weight.

We are all guilty of these, so hopefully these simple tips will help you.

While it seems all too easy to indulge in a few alcoholic beverages in the sun, we all know one drink is never just one drink.

Now I am not saying do not enjoy yourself, but the age old ‘everything in moderation’ is crucial here.

Calories from fluid count just the same as calories from food.

Sugary drinks and alcohol can limit your progress dramatically, so try to keep it to a moderate amount one day a week at tops.

In regards to all other fluid intake, try to stick to smoothies, unsweetened tea and water.

After working out, most of our clients and people in general feel like their appetite is suppressed, however give it time and when your body realises it is low of glycogen, you will suddenly feel much more hungry which can potentially lead you to eating too much.

So be sure to eat something within an hour of working out. Please do not be afraid of fat.

All these crazy celebrity magazines have us believing that carbohydrates are the devils work and all fat is bad for you and you should eliminate it entirely from your body.

Please do not fall into this trap. By all means, avoid trans fats and saturated fats, but poly and monounsaturated fats found in nuts, seeds, avacados etc and great for us.

They play a crucial role in regulating our appetite hormones too. Failure to use these in the correct way, or the abuse of others, will lead to fat gain, overeating and potentially life threatening illnesses.

So please do not be afraid of all fats. They place a crucial role in our health.
