Morecambe’s newest Home Bargains store is taking shape on the site of the former Focus DIY shop on Westgate, as a picture of the site taken by Visitor reporter Michelle Blade shows.

The discount chain is creating 70 jobs at the new store, which is costing £5 million to revamp.

The new shop will be larger than Morecambe’s Arndale Centre store and will have a 100-space car park.

A spokesman for Home Bargains said: “While we don’t have anything to announce at the moment, we’d encourage people to register on our careers website so we can contact them if roles become available in their region. As a result of our constant growth, we’re always looking for new staff across the country.”
