The next Bishop of Blackburn – whose diocese covers much of Lancashire – has moved in to a home near Ribchester ahead of starting his new role this October.
Julian Henderson, 59, and his wife Heather began unpacking last week in advance of a busy autumn schedule, when the former Archdeacon of Dorking in Surrey will be consecrated as bishop by the Archbishop of York.
The ceremony on October 10 is before Julian’s formal inauguration as Bishop of Blackburn at the cathedral on October 19.
He said: “Heather and I have already got a bit of a feel of the wonderful diversity of the county of Lancashire, but look forward to discovering much more now we have moved. Taking on this very senior role is a massive privilege and I hope to be a good steward of the trust that has been placed in me.”
