Morecambe flat occupant escapes blaze

Fire crews rushed to a blaze on Skipton Street in Morecambe after reports a person may be trapped.

Crews from Morecambe, Lancaster and Bolton-le-Sands raced to the scene at 9.51am on June 6.

Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used two hosereel jets to extinguish the fire and a portable fan unit to extract the smoke and heat.

The occupant of the flat had got outside prior to the arrival of firefighters and was uninjured.
